Starting his professional career at just 15, Harland has established himself as a dynamic presence on the San Diego jazz scene. His performances seamlessly fuse blues, Latin jazz, and swing into sophisticated, compelling musical narratives. Harland has collaborated with San Diego jazz icons such as Charles McPherson, Gilbert Castellanos, Karl Denson, showcasing his versatility and artistic depth. His vibraphone work is also featured on Justin Joyce’s debut album Story Tales and Mackenzie Leighton’s I Remember—two releases that highlight contemporary jazz styles. Currently, Harland is recording his debut album as a bandleader, a project centered on his original compositions with a focus on hard-bop and post-bop traditions.
