Scott Pemberton Band is an emerging force on the national festival and club circuit, with his wild approach to the guitar and nimble funky band he is immediately recognizable and undeniably original. He doesn’t use a strap, often plays the guitar like someone would play piano and performs with the uninhibited joy and intensity of someone who recognizes that every time we make music is an honor and a gift. Wil Blades is a Chicago-born Hammond B-3 organist who has become one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s most in-demand musicians, earning international recognition and repeated “Rising Star” honors in Downbeat while performing with major jazz, funk, and blues legends. Developing his craft through early gigs at John Lee Hooker’s Boom Boom Room and mentorship from Dr. Lonnie Smith, he blends traditional organ influences with a modern, rhythmic, and harmonically rich style. He tours internationally, leads his own groups, collaborates on projects such as Amendola vs. Blades and the Billy Martin & Wil Blades Duo, and teaches privately. Zak Najor is a drummer with Grammy participation and is a founding member of The Greyboy Allstars as well as a tenured drummer for Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe.
