But it’s his solo catalog that’s solidified his place in R&B. From Expectations to Closer to The R&B You Love, he’s delivered a steady run of critically acclaimed, top 5 iTunes charting albums that both honor the genre’s roots and reimagine its future. His 2023 and 2024 GRAMMY nominations for “Lucky” and “Can I Have This Groove” (both from The R&B You Love: Soul of the ’70s) marked a defining moment in his solo career.
